ABSTRACTS APPLICATION FOR THE ESCS 2020
The ESCS (European Student Council Symposium) provides a forum for students and young researchers in the fields of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology to meet, present their work in front of an international audience, build a network within the computational biology community and obtain opportunities that can contribute to the development of their scientific career. It will take place on Sunday 6th September 2020, directly preceding the inauguration of the ECCB.
We invite all participants of ESCS 2020 to submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation.All abstracts will be evaluated based on scientific relevance. The submission deadline for abstracts is 11th June 2020.

REGISTRATION FOR THE ESCS 2020
The registration for the ESCS 2020 is managed by the registration system of the main conference, ECCB2020. You may find information about registration and fees here: https://eccb2020.info/registration/
APPLICATION AND POSTER TRACK: SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The 250-word abstract must be submitted through the EasyChair ESCS 2020 Track submission site (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=eccb2020).
For each presenting author related to the abstract, only one submission will be considered. Submissions should include the following:
- Name/affiliation/email of presenting author
- Names/affiliations of all co-authors
- At least three keywords to facilitate the evaluation
- The abstract should not exceed 250 words and must be structured into three separate sections:
- Background: the context and purpose of the study;
- Description: the main findings;
- Conclusions: brief summary and potential implications.
Please note that as there is no word count available on the EasyChair form, you can use a tool like e.g. https://wordcounter.net. Submissions that succeed the maximum number of words will not be admitted to the review procedure.
ORAL PRESENTATIONS: PRACTICAL INFORMATION
We will contact all selected speakers by email until 28th June, in order to provide further instructions for their presentations.
In case an applicant is not selected as a speaker, we will still give the option to present their work as a poster, in case there is space available.
POSTERS: PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The poster boards are adapted to standard A0 poster size / portrait (A0 is 84.1 x 118.9cm; or 33.1 x 46.8 inches).
We will contact all selected poster holders by email until 28th June for further details and instructions.
