Powerful Presentations Tutorial - How to prepare, design and deliver high-impact presentation
Monday, 31st August
13:30 - 16:30 (CEST)
- Brian McCarthy | PerformingIdeas, Spain
The workshop is designed as a mix of theory and practice. It explores different techniques and offers practical advice to make scientific presentations more impactful.
For the last 8 years PerformingIdeas has been delivering custom versions of this workshop on Public Speaking at corporate universities, leading research centres, and tech companiens. This is PerformingIdeas’ most requested workshop and we’ve delivered it to over a 5,000 people across 4 continents.
The BSC's Bioinfo4Women program has selected the company PerformingIdeas to deliver the workshop on public speaking.
Researchers, scientists, PhD students.
This tutorial is open to at most 40 attendees.
Before coming to the workshop, participants have to choose a presentation they will develop in the workshop (learn-by-doing). This should be a real presentation they will make sometime in the near future. For the pre-work, they spend 20 minutes watching a video-introduction to the course, filling in a questionnaire about how they currently prepare to make presentations, and doing an audience profile for the presentation they will work on.
